Job summary

Baltimore Crisis Response, Inc. is seeking a committed 988 Text & Chat Supervisor to lead counselors delivering crisis intervention through the 988 Lifeline. This remote, part-time role demands real-time guidance, trauma-informed approaches, and strict adherence to crisis protocols.

You will supervise Text & Chat counselors, monitor interactions, support staff development, and ensure high-quality crisis response across shifts. Strong leadership and crisis experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related field; or bachelor’s degree with equivalent crisis experience.
• 2+ years of experience in crisis intervention or mental health services.
• 1+ year of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Bilingual skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time supervision, de-escalation assistance, and guidance to Text and Chat counselors.
• Assist staff with complex and high-risk situations, including imminent risk of harm.
• Monitor service quality and ensure interventions are trauma-informed and protocol-aligned.
• Maintain professionalism and sound judgment in fast-paced crisis situations.
• Maintain staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage for assigned shifts.
