Job summary

West Chester Township Emergency Communications Department is seeking a Communications Officer (Dispatcher) to process emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch Police, Fire and EMS using CAD software. The role requires the ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech and to work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays and weekends in a high-pressure environment.

The pay rate is $28.20 per hour, with potential for experience-based adjustment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in 911 dispatch or related communications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process emergency and non-emergency calls for service and dispatch Police, Fire and EMS using computer aided dispatch technology.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and the public, and handle shifting schedules including nights, holidays, and weekends.
