Job summary

West Chester Township Emergency Communications Department is seeking a Communications Officer (Dispatcher) to answer emergency and non-emergency calls and dispatch Police, Fire and EMS using computer aided dispatch technology. Candidates must be able to work rotating shifts, nights, holidays and weekends in a high-stress, life-and-death environment.

The hourly pay rate is $28.20, and experience may be considered for the rate.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
• Experience with emergency communications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Dispatch Police, Fire and EMS using computer aided dispatch technology.
• Provide information and assistance to co-workers and the public.
