Job summary

The Lincoln Center For Family And Youth is seeking a Mental Health Professional to partner with New Castle County Public Safety, triaging emergency mental-health calls in the 911 operations center. A master’s degree and five years of experience are required, with CCTP certification and crisis-hospital background preferred.

Responsibilities include assessing needs, directing resources, diverting from criminal justice when possible, and producing data-driven reports.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
• At least five (5) years' mental health professional experience.
• Flexibility to work a rotating shift in the 911 call center.
• Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
• Hospital/crisis background preferred.
• Experience with law enforcement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the health and safety needs of those involved in each call.
• Determine what resource is best suited and whether it should be led by law enforcement, EMS, or a mental health professional.
• Divert those in need of mental health support from encountering the criminal justice system, when possible.
• Track the number of calls received, diverted, returned, referrals, follow-ups, and Behavioral Health Unit referrals.
• Attend mandatory trainings and regularly scheduled meetings to help develop and manage the program.
• Collect data and develop reports as required.
• Submit monthly timesheet/invoice for hours completed.
