Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Certified by the State of Alabama in the appropriate area.
  • Must meet highly qualified status as determined by Alabama State Department of Education.
  • Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and uphold school rules and Board of Education policies.
  • Participate in efficient operation of the school and system; participate in meetings and committee responsibilities.
  • Meet assigned classes at designated times and maintain suitable classroom environment.
  • Prepare for classes with written evidence of preparation upon request.
  • Maintain records required by law and board policy.
  • Evaluate student progress and refer to specialists when appropriate.
  • Assist in fostering citizenship, self-discipline, and morality.
  • Work with staff to plan school activities and instructional goals.
  • Attend faculty meetings and maintain professional relations with parents and community.
