The candidate will hold a master’s degree in mathematics or related field with at least 18 graduate math credits, and teaching experience in higher education is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Math-related degrees acceptable (e.g., Mathematics Education, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Engineering).
  • Combination of experience and education acceptable to perform duties.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches assigned mathematics courses.
  • Participates in curriculum development and maintenance.
  • Provides academic support and advising to students including maintaining office hours.
  • Participates in college governance via committees.
  • Participates in faculty search processes.
  • Engages in college and community service activities.
  • Keeps up with instructional trends and best practices.

Job description

Job Summary:

Provides academic instruction and student academic support for the Math & Computer Science department. Performs tasks designed to ensure the quality and consistency of academic instruction including governance activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

A master’s degree in mathematics or a related field*, with at least 18 graduate credits in mathematics including courses in these areas: algebra/group theory/logic (such as abstract algebra or topology), and analysis (such as real analysis or complex analysis, functional analysis, or probability measure theory); Math-related degrees include Mathematics Education, Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Engineering. *Or a combination of experience and education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Licensing Requirements:

Hiring Range:

No less than $48,500
