Job summary

ADP, Inc. in Humble, TX is seeking a Full Time Emergency Dispatcher. You will answer 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls, determine response, and utilize CAD/TCIC systems to route police, fire and EMS resources.

You’ll monitor radio traffic, manage logs, and provide critical information to responders while maintaining calm under pressure. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, US citizenship, and certification within a year (T.C.L.O.E. Telecommunications Operator’s License, EMD/EFD/EPD).

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen and 21+ years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pass pre-employment tests including background, polygraph, psychology, physical and drug exams.
• Must obtain T.C.L.O.E. Telecommunications Operator’s License within one year.
• Must become EMD, EFD and EPD certified within one year of employment.
• Must be able to type 40 words per minute or better.
• Must multitask and stay calm in emergencies.
• Must not have felony convictions in the past.

Responsibilities

• Answer 9-1-1 and other calls, determine required response (Police, Fire, EMS).
• Dispatch police and public safety personnel to calls for service.
• Closely monitor radio traffic and coordinate resources as needed.
• Maintain detailed logs of locations, times and information for field units.
• Provide information and act as communications link during critical incidents.
• Operate CAD/TCIC systems for data entry and queries.
• Assist and direct walk-in complainants at police facilities.
• Document messages and forward to the intended recipient.
