The City and County of Denver's Emergency Communications department is hiring 9-1-1 Emergency Call Takers for the February 23, 2027 academy. This on-site role offers a paid training path totaling 24 weeks and an hourly rate of $29.00, with rotating 8–10 hour shifts across days, nights, weekends and holidays.

As a Call Taker, you will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, collect and document information in CAD, provide dispatch guidance, and help coordinate police, fire, and EMS.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED completion required.
• Two years of public contact experience handling individual problems and applying policies.
• One year of computer user experience in Windows environment.

• Answer emergency and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire, and EMS with professionalism and empathy.
• Collect, assess, and document critical information into CAD.
• Determine call nature and priority, initiate dispatch and EMD as needed.
• Provide lifesaving instructions and triage guidance when required.
• Manage a high volume of calls in a fast-paced environment while staying accurate.
