Job summary

The City and County of Denver’s 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Agency seeks highly motivated 9-1-1 Police Dispatchers to support the Denver Police, Fire, and EMS in a 24/7 operation. Duties include handling emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching units, and coordinating with first responders using CAD and radio communications.

Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication, multitasking, critical thinking, and emotional resilience, with a background in dispatch or public safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year emergency dispatching/public safety experience preferred.
• CPR and EMD certification required by end of academy training.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls via phone and radio.
• Dispatch police units to incidents prioritizing safety.
• Monitor field units and provide updates in real time.
• Use CAD systems to log and relay information accurately.
• Maintain communication with officers and coordinate with other responders.
