Job summary

The Academy for Technology and the Classics is seeking an 8th grade math teacher, with the option of teaching Algebra 1, depending on availability. The role centers on creating engaging 60- and 90-minute lessons for middle schoolers who deserve thoughtful, developmentally appropriate instruction.

We value collaborative, student-centered teaching, data-informed instruction, and a commitment to college and career readiness within a small, supportive community.

Qualifications

• Licensed to teach in New Mexico.
• Experience working with middle school students.
• Strong classroom management and relationships skills.
• Proficiency with Google Suite, Canvas LMS and PowerSchool.

Responsibilities

• Curriculum development and implementation for all assigned courses.
• Assessment design and analysis; track academic progress and share with stakeholders.
• Lead College Crew advisory and collaborate on readiness activities.
• Maintain regular digital communications with families via Canvas, Remind, PowerSchool.
• Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning and planning.
• Provide personalized learning support and collaborate with IEP/EL teams.
• Support extra-curricular activities and school operations.
