IDEA Public Schools in the United States is seeking teachers for IDEA College Prep to ensure students master academics and social skills needed for college, while embracing IDEA values daily.

The role involves teaching rigorous material, tracking student data, delivering dual enrollment/AP/IB opportunities, and contributing to a supportive school culture. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and teaching certification; state certification preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• State certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Learn, master, and deliver content and grade level curriculum, core content objectives, and texts.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Implement formal and informal assessments to track each student’s progress and adjust lesson plans accordingly.
• Communicate students’ progress with student and family on a weekly basis.
• Effective use of technology as a communication and educational tool to improve student achievement.
• Implement a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Support school-wide culture and student community development.
• Establish cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust.
• Host tutoring sessions as needed to meet student needs.
• Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, and after-school duties.
• Engage in ongoing district, school and personal development.
• Spend 40+ hours per week at school.
