Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks teachers for IDEA College Prep to ensure students master academic and social skills for college readiness. You will set ambitious goals, track data, and adapt daily lessons to include dual-enrollment, AP, or IB opportunities where available.

You will teach with a focus on rigorous material, implement state standards, and participate in ongoing professional development, with emphasis on student progress and collaboration with families.

Qualifications

• High level content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience (strongly preferred).
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Licenses or Certifications: State certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Learn, master, and deliver content and grade level curriculum, core content objectives, and texts.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Implement formal and informal assessments to track progress and adjust plans, updating gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis.
• Maintain a clear and consistent behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Support school culture to foster productive learning environments for every student.
• Collaborate with families and students to build trust and respect.
