Arbor Academy in Michigan seeks dedicated 7th/8th grade self-contained teachers to join our team. Teachers will deliver standards-aligned instruction and foster a love of learning.

The ideal candidate holds a Michigan teaching certificate, a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), at least three years of teaching, and demonstrates curriculum development and assessment practices. We value collaboration and progress for all students.

Qualifications

• Valid State of Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement(s).
• Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years teaching experience.
• Evidence of meeting highly qualified requirements as defined by No Child Left Behind.
• Ability to teach and develop curriculum for assigned grade level(s).

Responsabilités

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans aligned to Michigan standards.
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Help students who are behind or struggling to learn content.
• Collaborate with other teachers to develop lessons and improve learning.
• Communicate with students and parents regarding progress and needs.
• Establish clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Manage classroom behavior by enforcing rules and procedures.
• Maintain discipline consistent with school policy.
• Use formative, summative, and interim data to inform instruction.
• Create classroom assessments that measure student proficiency per Michigan standards.
