Job summary

Great Lakes Academy in Pontiac, MI seeks a Full Time 7th/8th Grade Teacher. A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with the appropriate endorsement is preferred; applicants eligible for alternative certification may also be considered.

Responsibilities include standards-aligned instruction, collaboration with families and colleagues, and supporting students' academic, social, and emotional growth in a middle school setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is required.
• A valid Michigan teaching certificate is preferred; alternative certification paths considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons.
• Create an inclusive, structured classroom environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Assess student learning using various methods and record progress.
• Collaborate with families and colleagues to support student growth.
• Support social and emotional development of learners.
• Maintain school safety and positive behavior expectations.
• Participate in IEP/504 meetings as required.
