Job summary

Ofinno is seeking a 6G Standards Research Engineer in Reston, VA to lead advanced research for next-generation wireless systems. The role focuses on 3GPP RAN aspects and collaborating with global standards bodies to shape 6G developments.

You will work on algorithms, patentable innovations, and cross-team coordination to translate research into practical 6G features. A PhD is preferred and a strong patent record is valued.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required; PhD strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience with 3GPP standards (RAN1 or RAN2).
• Proven track record of contributions to 3GPP standards and activities.
• Demonstrated history of patents related to 5G/6G technologies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced research in 6G technologies with focus on transmission and reception mechanisms.
• Innovate and propose novel algorithms and enhancements aligned with global standards evolution.
• Develop patentable solutions addressing industry challenges and contributing to new 6G features.
• Generate intellectual property and support all stages of the patent process.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align research with business objectives.
• Monitor emerging trends in wireless comms to identify innovation opportunities.
• Present findings and insights to clients, partners, and at industry events.
