Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with High School ESL endorsement (required).
• Successful teaching experience with Multilingual Learners (MLs).
• Ability to support and promote academic instruction in the four domains of the English language.
• Demonstrated ability to work with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with administrators, teachers, students and staff, under supervision.
• Fast-paced environment with a high degree of flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Deliver ESL/ELD instruction to Multilingual Learner students by language proficiency levels.
• Align curriculum to WIDA English language development standards and pedagogy.
• Use data to guide and differentiate instruction.
• Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of students for evaluation and progress monitoring.
• Collaborate with designated staff to welcome new MLs and follow procedures.
• Support cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and language development of ML students.
• Incorporate feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the district mission.
