Job summary

Wayne County Schools Employment Network seeks an ESL Teacher to plan and deliver engaging English language instruction in a Michigan school environment. The role requires Michigan teaching certification with an ESL endorsement and a strong commitment to helping EL/ELL students achieve academic potential.

Responsibilities include planning lessons, using technology to differentiate instruction, maintaining records, and collaborating with staff and parents to support student progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Requires coursework in ESL or related teaching methods.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to use technology to support instruction.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and tests aligned with procedures; instruct and monitor students in learning materials and equipment.
• Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
• Manage student behavior and maintain discipline in the classroom.
• Maintain accurate records of students' progress and development and update records as required by policies.

Education

B.A/B.S degree or higher in teaching from an accredited institution or related field, teaching

Michigan Department of Education certification in teaching in the appropriate subject area
