The Lansing School District Adult Education (AE) program is hiring an Adult Education ESL Teacher to provide a holistic classroom experience for adult learners. Focused on literacy, instruction will address English in community and workplace contexts and create a safe, nurturing environment where background and culture are valued.
You will administer CASAS assessments, differentiate instruction across skill levels, and use educational technology to enhance learning.

The Lansing School District Adult Education (AE) program plays a vital community role in offering classes in English as a Second Language (ESL), Adult Basic Education (ABE), High School Diploma (HSD), High School Equivalency (HSE), Adult Secondary Education (ASE) and Career Pathways instruction to adult learners.
To further this mission, the district is hiring an Adult Education ESL Teacher to provide a holistic and supportive classroom experience for adult learners. Focused on literacy, instruction should include issues relevant to English within the community and workplace. The teacher will work to establish a safe and nurturing learning environment for students where background knowledge, language and culture is valued, and time is given to orient adult learners to a new culture, school, and community.
