Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• New Jersey teaching certification with elementary endorsement.
• Experience teaching upper elementary preferred.
• Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum.
• Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction for 5th grade.
• Create a safe, inclusive, challenging classroom environment.
• Establish clear routines and procedures.
• Teach core subjects: literacy, math, science, social studies.
• Integrate STEM/STEAM and hands-on learning.
• Develop critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learners.
• Monitor and assess student learning through formal and informal assessments.
• Use data to inform instruction and monitor progress.
• Provide timely feedback and maintain records.
• Identify students needing additional support and collaborate with staff.
• Collaborate with special education teachers, interventionists, and specialists.
• Communicate regularly with families about progress and needs.
• Support social-emotional development and positive behavior.
• Prepare students for transition to middle school.
