Job Description

LEAP Academy University Charter School is seeking a highly qualified, passionate, and dedicated 5th Grade Teacher to provide high-quality instruction in a rigorous, engaging, and supportive classroom environment.

The 5th Grade Teacher will plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction that supports students' academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth. The teacher will establish a positive classroom culture, differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs, monitor student progress through ongoing assessment, and use data to inform instruction.

The ideal candidate will prepare students for success in middle school and beyond by developing strong skills in literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, and STEM/STEAM. The teacher will encourage critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, independence, and a love of learning while working closely with colleagues, families, specialists, and school leadership to support student achievement.

Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction appropriate for 5th grade students.
  • Create a safe, positive, inclusive, and academically challenging classroom environment.
  • Establish clear classroom expectations, routines, and procedures.
  • Teach core academic subjects, including literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies.
  • Integrate STEM/STEAM, technology, projects, and hands‑on learning experiences into instruction.
  • Develop students' critical thinking, problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet individual academic and learning needs.
  • Monitor and assess student learning through formal and informal assessments.
