Job summary

Sylvania seeks a 5th Grade Camp Committee Representative to help plan and run a memorable outdoor education camp for the graduating 5th-grade class. You will work with the camp director and school staff to manage logistics, design activities, and ensure prep work stays on schedule.

Responsibilities include attending planning sessions, coordinating itineraries and housing, designing workshops, managing gear and budget, and communicating deadlines to teachers and parents.

Qualifications

• Organizational excellence in tracking multiple moving parts and timelines.
• Ability to shift between big-picture planning and details.
• Willingness to take ownership, meet deadlines and troubleshoot on the fly.
• Strong teamwork and communication to build consensus with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Attend regular planning sessions, increasing frequency as camp approaches.
• Collaborate on camp itineraries, bus schedules, group rotations, housing or cabin assignments.
• Help design, organize, and run daytime workshops and evening events.
• Source and organize gear, craft supplies, and materials within budget.
• Keep teachers, administration, and parents updated on deadlines and packing requirements.
