Job summary

Applitrack seeks a 5th & 6th grade science long-term substitute teacher for Ardsley Middle School. Role covers approximately November 30, 2026 through April 1, 2027, under school principal supervision, delivering district-approved curriculum and monitoring student progress.

The candidate will plan lessons, assess learners, maintain records, and communicate with families. NYS Certification required; Bachelor's degree; Masters preferred; prior experience encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers middle school science curriculum aligned to district goals.
• Creates safe, inclusive environments for individual and small group instruction.
• Develops lesson plans and learning experiences to maximize instructional time.
• Assesses student progress, adapts instruction for diverse needs.
• Attends professional development and participates in meetings.
• Maintains accurate records of grades, attendance, and progress.
• Engages parents and communicates student progress and expectations.
• Ensures student conduct aligns with school policies and standards.
• Collaborates with grade-level teams to review and improve curriculum.
• Selects and requisitions appropriate books and supplies; maintains inventory.
• Supervises students during activities outside the classroom and school transportation.
• Administers standardized tests per district programs.
