POSITION SUMMARY

The role involves operating the Strander and Jacket Line efficiently, meeting Hendrix’s quality and productivity standards safely, with minimal waste.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Key Responsibilities:
2. Adhere to all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
3. Keep equipment and work area clean and organized.
4. Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and reliability.
5. Set up the strander and jacket lines mechanically, including pay-offs and take-up operations, and install tooling as required for different cable designs.
6. Monitor raw material supply to prevent production delays.
7. Use calibrated measurement devices to ensure product specifications are met.
8. Generate and record product identification tags and quality documentation per Hendrix standards.
9. Inspect neutral spools for damage and perform cold welds on neutral wires to ensure continuous spool operation.
10. Scrap remaining copper from unloaded spools using a Sweed chopper.
11. Perform head clean-ups and screw pulls as scheduled or needed.
12. Assist with terminating jacketed cables for electrical testing when applicable.
13. Complete and maintain Forklift Safety Training certification.
14. Take corrective actions to uphold product quality.
15. Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements.

Education, Experience, and Knowledge Qualifications

• Understanding of basic extrusion line operations and components.
• Experience with pay-off and take-up equipment operation.
• Proficiency with industry-standard tools and measurement devices.
• Knowledge of product identification and tagging.
• Skills in assembling, disassembling, and cleaning extruder heads and auxiliary equipment.
• Familiarity with extruder screw selection and installation.
• Understanding of conveyor systems, dryers, and related equipment.
• Ability to manage temperature, air, water controls, and power switches.
• Experience loading and unloading neutral spools.
• Knowledge of cold welding and crimp connections principles.
• Operation of Powder Applicators when applicable.
