What you’ll do as a Telecommunications Lineman

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cables
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
• Safely operate mechanized equipment like bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, etc.
• Direct traffic flow according to local DOT guidelines
• Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Operate across multiple locations
• Maintain safe working habits and conditions per all regulations, procedures, and policies

What you’ll need

• Be at least 18 years old
• Authorization to work in the U.S. for this company
• Valid driver’s license
• Prior experience as a lineman in placing aerial and underground telecommunication cables (fiber and coax) in OSP and ISP environments
• Ability to climb utility poles, work in bucket trucks, and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet

Physical abilities & exposures

• Extended periods of standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds
• Work in inclement weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind
