Job summary

Pioneer Motor Bearing Co. seeks an experienced CNC machinist to set up and run 5-axis machines for precision fluid film bearings and defense components. You will translate complex drawings into accurate setups, verify geometry, and maintain tight tolerances with micrometers and dial indicators.

Proficiency with DMG MORI, Okuma, Hyundai, Fanuc controls and CAD/CAM programming is required. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in our aerospace‑focused shop.

Qualifications

• 5-axis setup/operation proficiency required.
• Trade or technical schooling or 5+ years related experience preferred.
• Ability to read complex technical drawings and specs.
• DMG MORI/Okuma/Fanuc or similar controls experience.
• Applicants should be comfortable with ITAR and aerospace standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC equipment to produce/repair bearings, seals, and aerospace/defense components.
• Translate route sheets, blueprints, and verbal guidance into efficient setups.
• Use geometry and math to plan, verify, and adjust machining strategies.
• Maintain tight tolerances with measurement tools.
• Edit and optimize G-code and document changes.
• Escalate quality/delivery risks and drive corrective actions.
• Recommend tooling/fixtures to reduce run time and improve repeatability.
• Safely rig, load, and unload heavy parts with overhead cranes.
