Job summary

Momentum Manufacturing Group seeks a skilled CNC Mill Machine Operator Set Up to perform complete machine setups, first-article verification, and in-process inspection within an AS9100 environment. You will edit G-code, prepare tooling and fixtures, and train others while ensuring tight tolerances and adherence to cybersecurity and traveler requirements.

Experience with Okuma, Haas, and Fanuc controls is essential, along with capability to work in a regulated aerospace/defense facility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational machining program preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on CNC milling setup experience in a production or job-shop environment.
• Proficiency setting up and editing programs on at least two of: Okuma OSP-P300M/P500M, Haas (Mill/UMC), or Fanuc 31i/0i-MD.
• Solid understanding of G-code / M-code programming; ability to write or edit short programs without CAM.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings with ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Experience with precision measurement tools (micrometers, bore gauges, CMM operation a plus).
• Prior aerospace/defense experience with AS9100 Rev D and traveler/NCR processes.
• US Person (ITAR/EAR) required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T callouts, operation sheets, and CAM setup docs to plan machine setups.
• Coordinate with engineering on New Part Introduction (NPI).
• Set up, load, and verify cutting tools and fixtures to specified tolerances.
• Load and edit CNC part programs at the control; adjust as needed.
• Verify tool offsets and coordinate offsets on multiple controller types.
• Perform first article inspection using calibrated hand tools and CMM fixtures.
• Monitor feeds, speeds, and tool life to maximize quality and efficiency.
• Provide setup handoff documentation for subsequent shifts.
