Job summary

NOW Hiring Heroes in Tampa, FL seeks a skilled CNC 5‑Axis Machinist / Operator to run established jobs on 5‑axis Centers. You will produce high‑quality parts, monitor processes, and verify dimensions, communicating issues promptly.

The role requires experience on 5‑axis machines, reading drawings, and using precision gauges; aerospace or tight‑tolerance machining is preferred. Overtime may be necessary to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC machining centers; 5-axis experience required.
• Experience reading drawings and using precision measuring tools.
• Understanding of machining practices, tool wear, and dimensional tolerances.
• Must be able to follow established processes and work independently.
• Aerospace or other tight-tolerance machining experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate 5-axis CNC machining centers using approved programs and setup instructions.
• Load and unload parts, confirm seating and clamping, monitor cycles.
• Perform routine tool changes and tool offset adjustments within limits.
• Check parts with calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, etc.
• Follow drawings, work instructions, and quality requirements to maintain dimensions.
• Recognize tool wear and notify supervisor when needed.
• Maintain clean machines and work areas; follow safety procedures.
• Communicate job status and handoff information to next shift.
• Support department transfers to meet production needs.
