Aerotek is seeking a skilled CNC Mill Machinist to operate and set up 5-axis mills in a clean, climate-controlled Dayton shop. You will work with stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and inconel, performing tool offsets, G&M edits, and GD&T inspection to ensure high-quality parts.

The role requires precise blueprints interpretation, tight tolerances, and collaboration with the team to optimize processes. This is a direct placement in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years setting up and operating 5-axis CNC mills.
• 3+ years reading and interpreting blueprints for precision machining.
• 3+ years performing tool offsets independently on CNC mills.
• 3+ years performing G&M code edits at the machine to optimize programs.
• Hands-on GD&T experience and interpretation of drawings.
• Proficiency with tool changes and basic machine adjustments on CNC mills.
• Ability to work with varying lot sizes and cycle times while maintaining quality.
• Strong attention to detail to hold tight tolerances on complex parts.

Responsabilités

• Set up and operate a 5-axis CNC mill, completing full setups per shift.
• Perform tool offsets independently throughout the shift, 30–50 per day.
• Read blueprints to determine operations, tolerances, and inspection needs.
• Run production on varying lot sizes, 40–80 pieces, with consistent quality.
• Handle parts with cycles from 3 minutes to 8 hours, averaging ~10 minutes.
• Work with stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, and inconel and adapt parameters.
• G&M edits on existing programs to optimize performance and correctness.
• Use GD&T to verify part geometry and dimensional requirements.
• Perform tool changes and verify proper tooling installation.
• Monitor machine performance and part quality; adjust as needed.
• Collaborate with team to troubleshoot and improve processes.
• Follow shop safety procedures and keep area clean and organized.
