Job summary

Commercial Metals Company is seeking a Machinist to machine new and repair parts to print specifications. You will operate CNC and manual machines, read blueprints, and ensure accuracy, safety, and quality in a climate-controlled shop.

The role requires at least 5 years of experience, strong math and PC skills, and the ability to work with team members across shifts. Flexibility for extended hours is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in CNC and Manual machining.
• Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, work orders and drawings.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic math and basic PC skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate.
• Ability to follow directions and procedures.
• Proficient in the use of hand and power tools at a speed necessary for successful job performance.
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, climbing.

Responsibilities

• Machining of new and repair part products to print specifications.
• Operate CNC machines and maintain proper maintenance of machine equipment.
• Reading of blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of stock required.
• Observe machine operation to detect malfunction or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required.
• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements.
• Maintain a safe work environment and keep work area clean and organized.
• This position is performed in a climate-controlled shop environment.
• Moving, carrying, lifting, objects in excess of 50 lbs.
• Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time.
• Work in both cold and hot climates.
• Work in or near industrial hazards.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule in order to meet demands of the role.
