Job summary

DC Prep is hiring a 4th/5th grade ELA teacher for Washington, DC. Start date is immediate. This full-time, 10-month role requires at least 2+ years of lead teaching in urban public schools and a bachelor’s degree (education concentration preferred).

Qualifications

• 2+ years of lead teaching experience in urban public schools with a track record of student achievement.
• Bachelor’s degree from a competitive college or university is required; concentration or advanced degree in education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be on duty at campus from 7:15 am to 4:15 pm, with start times on professional development days.
• Occasionally report to a different campus for professional development or network events.
• Perform clerical duties related to instructional supplies, student reports, attendance, and assessments.
• Lead classroom instruction and collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success; engage families when appropriate.
