Job summary

DC Prep in Washington, DC seeks a 5th grade Special Education ELA Teacher for the 26-27 school year. Start date is immediate. This full-time, 10-month role is based on our DC campuses and requires exempt status.

You will plan and deliver standards-based ELA instruction, align with IEP goals, and collaborate with lead teachers to support student growth. DC Prep emphasizes SEL, data-driven instruction, and family partnership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of lead teaching experience in urban public schools preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree required; concentration or advanced degree in education preferred.
• Exempt status and a 10-month term are noted in posting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver standards-based ELA instruction for 5th grade ESE students.
• Align instruction with IEP goals and inclusive practices.
• Collaborate with lead teachers to differentiate instruction and monitor progress.
• Utilize data to inform planning and improve outcomes.
• Support social-emotional learning and school-wide SEL initiatives.
