Job summary

DC Prep in Washington, DC invites applications for a SY 26-27 5th grade Special Education ELA Teacher. This full-time, 10-month role starts immediately and requires exempt status.

You will deliver standards-based instruction, tailor supports for students with IEPs, and collaborate with a team focused on equity and student growth. DC Prep emphasizes data-driven instruction, family engagement, and ongoing professional development to strengthen our educators.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of lead teaching experience in an urban public school with a record of high student achievement highly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree from a competitive college or university required. Concentration or advanced degree in education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan thoughtfully and teach joyously using standards-based curriculum.
• Lead grade-level instruction and small-group instruction to meet diverse learners.
• Analyze student data to inform instruction and improve outcomes.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in weekly PD and feedback conversations.
