Job summary

MOHR Talent in Hartford, CT is seeking a 401(k) Specialist to act as the retirement plan expert for clients and participants. You will design and manage plans, ensuring compliance and optimization while guiding clients through complex retirement concepts.

Applicants should have 3+ years of 401(k) experience, a Series 66 license, and strong communication skills; willingness to pursue a Series 7 is a plus. This is a full-time, in-person role in Hartford, CT.

A well established and growing wealth management firm with a collaborative team that cares about their people is hiring a 401(k) Specialist. You will be the go-to retirement plan expert, helping clients build and manage plans that fit their goals while helping participants feel confident about their futures.

What You’ll Do:

• Advise clients on 401(k) plan design, implementation, compliance, and fiduciary responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact for plan sponsors and participants
• Lead regular plan reviews to keep plans compliant and optimized
• Partner with advisors, investment teams, and third-party administrators (TPAs)
• Stay current on ERISA, IRS, and DOL updates
• Support new business with retirement plan proposals and presentations

What You Bring:

• Series 66 required, and willingness to obtain your Series 7
• 3+ years of experience managing 401(k) plans, retirement services, or related financial services
• Strong working knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to explain complex retirement concepts in a client-friendly way
