Job summary

Virginia Tech's Extension is seeking a Program Educator to work with 4-H youth in after-school, school enrichment, and summer camps, partnering with the 4-H agent to deliver diverse educational programs. Qualifications

• Experience working with youth of all backgrounds.
• Effective oral and written communication with youth and adults.
• Well organized and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to recruit, motivate, and engage youth and adult volunteers.
• Team player with VCE faculty and staff, local stakeholders, partnering agencies, and volunteers.
• Familiarity with computers including Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must have access to reliable transportation to and from various worksites.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the 4-H agent to promote, coordinate and deliver educational programs utilizing various delivery modes including after-school programs, school enrichment, day camps, and workshops.
• Assess effectiveness of the 4-H program and recommend improvements with leadership teams, local stakeholders, and key partners.
• Prepare marketing and evaluation materials; assist with design and updates of website and social media.
• Analyze evaluation results and manage reporting requirements for programs implemented.
• Manage fiscal matters to meet best practice standards and ensure that accounting practices align with grant requirements and university protocols.
• Actively participate in unit programming efforts across program areas (ANR, 4-H, FCS, EFNEP).
