Job summary

Purdue Extension in Indiana is seeking a part-time 4-H Associate Program Administrator to manage day-to-day operations of the local 4-H program, including youth enrollment, clubs, and volunteer onboarding. The role links Land-Grant University research with residents to provide access to 4-H experiences.

Under immediate supervision, you will coordinate communications, recruit operational support, and help organize educational opportunities and audiences for youth development in the community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education or youth development.
• At least 6 months of experience in educational program management or volunteerism.
• Ability to follow established procedures while prioritizing workloads.
• Proficiency with computers for reporting, data analysis and communication.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and ability to engage stakeholders.
• Ability to recruit, onboard and manage volunteers and youth participants.

Responsibilities

• Manage 4-H youth enrollment and club processes using the local database and event software.
• Recruit, onboard and coordinate adult volunteers to support local 4-H programs.
• Oversee volunteer tasks, annual club requirements and reporting.
• Serve as primary contact for volunteers and liaise with local affiliates.
• Develop regular communications with clientele and community partners.
• Support local events such as showcases and fairs and promote opportunities.
