Job summary

Purdue Extension in Indiana is seeking an Extension Educator to lead local 4-H programs and youth development initiatives. You will ensure alignment with state policies and university guidelines while coordinating resources for community youth.

The role requires a Master’s degree, strong communication, leadership, and the ability to travel within the county and beyond as needed. You will supervise volunteers and collaborate with local affiliates to deliver research-based education.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field is required.
• Strong communication, leadership, mentoring, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential.
• In lieu of a degree, a combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, support, and lead Community 4‑H Clubs with best practices and volunteer management.
• Manage youth and volunteer enrollment in 4-H through 4honline.
• Supervise volunteers and assist in delivering 4‑H programming and addressing needs.
• Advise and support 4‑H Affiliates and connect with State/Regional staff to promote programs.
• Connect youth and volunteers with opportunities and provide registration support.
• Ensure events follow Purdue and Indiana 4‑H policies and procedures.
• Chaperone the National 4‑H Trip as needed and obtain supervisor approval.
