Job summary

The Division of Agriculture of the University of Arkansas is seeking a Program Assistant for the 4-H and youth development program in Prairie County, under the supervision of a county agent.

Responsibilities include organizing events, maintaining records, recruiting volunteers, and communicating with youth, parents and leaders. Applicants must have a high school diploma, reliable transportation, pass a background check, and upload required documents.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have reliable transportation for use on the job with liability insurance in effect.
• Must successfully complete the standard background check which includes the Arkansas Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry Check.

Responsibilities

• Works for an assigned county Extension program under the supervision of a county agent in 4-H and youth development areas.
• Plans, coordinates and conducts 4-H events, clubs, and training activities in the county.
• Maintains accurate 4-H records and submits reports by deadlines.
• Recruits adult volunteer leaders and youth volunteers to form 4-H clubs and grow community enrollment.
• Maintains working relationships with 4-H leaders, members, and parents.
• Communicates the benefits and goals of the 4-H program to clientele.
