North Carolina State University’s North Carolina Cooperative Extension – Gaston County Center seeks an Extension Agent for 4-H. The role leads youth programs, with clubs, school enrichment, and camps, and supervises volunteers and staff.

You will develop, implement, and evaluate programs for ages 5–19, coordinating grants and partnerships. The position emphasizes outreach, community engagement, and delivering research-based education across Gaston County.

Qualifications

• Background in youth development or related field.
• Experience coordinating programs and volunteers.
• Ability to develop and evaluate 4-H activities.
• Strong communication and grant-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the 4-H Youth Development program with clubs, camps and school enrichment.
• Recruit, train and coordinate adult and teen volunteers.
• Manage grants and funding sources to support activities.
• Supervise staff and ensure program impact and reporting.
