Job summary

University of Nevada, Reno Extension’s 4-H Program seeks a Community-Based Instructor 3 to build partnerships and deliver positive youth development programs for ages 5–19 in Las Vegas. The role emphasizes healthy living, school enrichment, camps, fairs, and teen leadership while engaging families and volunteers.

The position requires a high school diploma with 3 years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination) and a valid driver’s license, with background checks and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Build community partnerships to establish 4-H clubs and programs.
• Implement positive youth development programming focused on healthy living.
• Engage youth ages 5–19, families, and volunteers through hands-on learning.
• Coordinate school enrichment, camps, fairs, educator training, and teen leadership.
• Manage program logistics and maintain online data systems.
• Support youth development in STEM, agriculture, leadership, civic engagement and environmental education.
