Job summary

International Paper in Griffin, GA is seeking a Production Operator to safely run and monitor industrial equipment, perform setup and basic repairs, and meet daily production targets. You will follow standardized work methods, document logs, and participate in safety and quality programs while supporting team goals.

The ideal candidate can interpret instructions, operate KIWI system, perform arithmetic, and communicate effectively with peers and supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to sustain productivity goals (set up times, downtime, MSF produced).
  • Ability to problem solve with minimal assistance.
  • Communicate effectively with employees, supervisors and managers.
  • Interpret and understand factory master data.
  • Basic computer skills (data entry) and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Learn and understand machine line up.
  • Interpret written/oral/diagram/scheduled instructions.
  • Understand and accurately use KIWI system.
  • Dependable with good attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following indicated methods.
  • Make ready, operate and maintain equipment.
  • Monitor machine operations and adjust as needed to prevent malfunctions.
  • Identify and correct product defects caused by the machine.
  • Perform routine adjustments to maintain production flow.
  • Set up and operate machines to meet specifications.
  • Complete documentation and logs accurately.
  • Train assistants and other staff as needed.

Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION: $23.29 per hour
  • Operates all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following indicated work methods.
  • Makes ready, operates and maintains the equipment.
  • Observes and monitors machine operations to detect malfunctions and to determine whether adjustments are needed.
  • Identifies, troubleshoots and corrects product defects caused by the machine.
  • Performs routine adjustments during the machine run and maintains production throughout the run.
  • Sets up and operates machine meeting established published specifications.
  • Ensures all orders are completed to specifications including “special instructions” if applicable.
  • Identifies and makes basic repairs to the machine.
  • Ensures Operation of Die Cutter and related equipment by completing basic preventive maintenance requirements according to operation standards.
  • Runs the machine meeting production goals.
  • Maintains housekeeping standards all the time.
  • Trains Assistant Operator and other as needed.
  • Conducts operations in a manner that promotes safety.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Complies with all IP’s Safety rules and Quality policies and protocols at all times.
  • Keeps appropriate records and reports (complete forms, logs, and records accurately – as required).
  • Other duties as assigned by managers and or supervisors/shift leader.
Job Qualifications
  • Must be able and willing to perform and sustain productivity goals (set up times, down time, MSF produced, etc).
  • Ability to problem solve with minimal assistance.
  • Provide daily feedback to supervisor regarding all aspects of shift/machine activity. Must be able to communicate effectively with other employees, supervisors, managers, etc.
  • Be able to interpret and understand factory master
  • Must have basic computer skills (data entry, etc) and be able to perform basic arithmetic including additions, subtractions, multiplications and division.
  • Must have ability to learn and understand machine line up.
  • Must have ability to interpret a variety of instructions given in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Must have ability to understand and accurately utilize KIWI
  • Must be dependable and reliable – and attendance should be in good standing.
