Job summary

Heritage Behavioral Health Center in Decatur, IL seeks a dedicated Safety Specialist for 3rd shift to maintain secure environments for staff, clients, and visitors. You will respond as first responder to internal emergencies and coordinate with emergency personnel and Heritage staff to uphold safety standards.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, prior security/safety experience preferred, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior security and/or safety experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct rounds to secure interior spaces of buildings
• Monitor sensitive areas during high-traffic times
• Enforce designated smoking areas on building exteriors
• Assist emergency personnel as needed
• Respond promptly to internal emergency codes
• Continuously monitor all floors for safety or security concerns
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with fellow safety team members and Heritage staff
