Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking an on-site maintenance technician in DeKalb, IL. You will install, configure, and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O, and wiring for complex packaging equipment.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting analog/digital controls at 480V 3-phase, maintaining encoders and load cells, programming PLCs and HMIs, and ensuring safety via lockout/tagout. Overtime and shift options apply.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Demonstrated experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), servo systems required.
Experience with troubleshooting and maintenance on packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience with electrical encoders, servomotors, and amplifiers preferred.
Proficient with electrical schematics.
Knowledge of lockout/tagout and safety procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

Install, configure and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O modules, and wiring.
Troubleshoot analog and digital controls with 480V 3-phase power, motors, VFDs, servo drives, and soft starts.
Maintain and troubleshoot encoders and load cells; program PLC and HMI interfaces.
Modify PLC logic using ladder logic; work with graphic HMI interfaces.
Troubleshoot communication protocols (Profibus, serial, industrial Ethernet).
Perform preventive maintenance on Laser Guided Vehicles, conveyors, and production equipment.
