Job summary
Electrical Automation Services in Geneva, IL is seeking a skilled technician to install, configure, and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, PLC I/O modules, and related control wiring. You will work on 480V 3-phase systems and assist with laser-guided conveyors and production equipment.
The role requires PLC programming experience, HMI interfaces, and fault diagnosis of Profibus, serial and industrial Ethernet.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Servo systems experience.
- Knowledge of 480V 3-phase power.
- Understanding of safety procedures (LOTO, confined spaces).
- Packaging equipment experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, PLC I/O modules and related control wiring.
- Provide troubleshooting for analog and digital controls and drive systems (VFDs, servos).
- Maintain and troubleshoot encoders, load cells, and other feedback devices.
- Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interfaces; modify ladder logic as needed.
- Diagnose network communication protocols (Profibus, serial, industrial Ethernet).
- Perform preventive maintenance on conveyors and packaging equipment.
