Job summary

GE Appliances in Lafayette, GA is seeking a 3rd Shift Team Leader to oversee daily operations on the assembly line. You will lead safety walks, coordinate team meetings and 6S activities, ensure PPE and JSIs are up to date, and keep production moving.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for maintaining quality and on-time delivery. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, hands-on line experience, and proficiency with MMS, operating systems, and basic Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Interpersonal skills required.
• Knowledge of assembly line parts and processes.
• Able to perform all jobs on line.
• Familiarity with MMS and operating systems.
• OJT certification is preferred.
• Computer skills including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily safety and ergonomic briefing and stretching.
• Make safety a priority and lead team meetings.
• Be the communications source for the team.
• Lead 6S activities and maintain 6S in the work area.
• Ensure PPE is available for all operators; review JSIs and PPE with new team members.
• Report unsafe hazards or conditions to BTL or EHS.
• Update JSIs and manage production schedules.
• Input equipment and safety work orders; keep equipment and tools functional.
• Ensure operators do not fall behind production targets.
• Address parts issues with Process Leader and Line Loaders.
• Certify CTQ jobs on the team and ensure CTQ stations have certified operators.
• Ensure adherence to quality and safety procedures.
• Mentor part-time members and utilities; cover absenteeism.
• Train operators and evaluate performance.
