Job summary

DSM-Firmenich AG is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift in Lakeland, FL. The role focuses on mechanical maintenance of process equipment, preventive and predictive tasks, and calibration and documentation to ensure safe, compliant operations.

The ideal candidate has 10 years of rotating equipment experience in GMP environments, with strong problem-solving and communication skills, and proficiency in CMMS, Excel, and Word. Physical readiness for heights is required.

Qualifications

• 10 years mechanical maintenance experience in chemical, food or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment, specifically with rotating equipment.
• Experience working in a GMP environment and at heights.
• Knowledge of Word, and Excel software, and CMMS systems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
• Ability to read governmental regulations and company policy and procedures.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, install and troubleshoot process equipment systems including pumps, agitators, heat exchangers, tanks, reactors, piping, and valves.
• Ensure operation of equipment by performing preventive and predictive maintenance; follow manuals and specs; troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Monitor, repair, maintain and document mechanical equipment including plant safety and power systems.
• Remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand tools; inspect parts with calipers, micrometers.
• Ensure all equipment is safely released and documents are in order before starting work; keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Close out work orders in the CMMS system; comply with safety and GMP requirements.
• Maintain technical knowledge through workshops and publications; interact with cross-functional teams.
• Perform tasks in compliance with safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
