Job summary

dsm-firmenich in Lakeland, FL is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift (10:00pm–6:30am). The role focuses on mechanical maintenance of process equipment, preventive and predictive tasks, and strict adherence to GMP and safety standards.

Responsibilities include repairing plants’ rotating equipment, documenting actions in CMMS, and ensuring all parts and tools are properly managed. A high School diploma and 10 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 10 years of mechanical maintenance experience in chemical, food or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Experience in GMP environments and at heights.
• Familiarity with Word, Excel and CMMS software.
• Strong communication and reporting abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, install and troubleshoot process equipment systems comprised of pumps, agitator, heat exchangers, tanks, reactors, piping systems, valves, and other mechanical systems.
• Ensure operation by preventive and predictive maintenance; troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Monitor, repair, maintain and document all field mechanical equipment including safety and power systems.
• Remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand tools; inspect parts for wear.
• Determine dimensional changes by inspecting parts with calipers, micrometers, etc.
• Ensure equipment is safely released and documents are in order before starting work.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly after completion.
• Close out work orders in the CMMS system.
• Comply with GMP, safety and environmental procedures and regulations.
• Maintain technical knowledge through workshops and publications.
