Job summary

Precision Strip in Talladega, AL is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure operation of machinery and equipment by performing diversified maintenance tasks, both planned and unplanned, at the metal processing plant.

You will read mechanical, hydraulic and electrical drawings, troubleshoot hydraulics and electrical systems, assist installation of new equipment, and collaborate across shifts to minimize downtime, improving overall equipment effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Willing to work 5pm–5am Mon-Fri and be available for emergencies outside regular hours.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic and electrical drawings.
• Deep knowledge to troubleshoot hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Experience with fabrication (welding, plasma, torch).
• Proven maintenance experience in manufacturing; technical school accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule preventative maintenance and maintain records.
• Ensure inventory of spare parts and supplies to complete jobs and reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoot root causes of unplanned maintenance and perform adjustments.
• Assist installation and assembly of new equipment and improve equipment and facilities.
• Strive for continuous process improvement and swift decision-making.
