Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA, LLC in Decatur, AL is seeking a 3rd shift Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance and on-site repairs for production machinery. The role requires reading measuring instruments, using hand, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, and prior industrial maintenance experience.

Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug screen. Duties include troubleshooting, parts removal, and ensuring safe operations at the customer site.

Qualifications

• Current, valid driver license.
• Ability to read and interpret measuring instruments.
• Preferred candidates will possess previous industrial/mechanical maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operation of machinery and equipment by performing preventive maintenance per diagrams and manuals.
• Identify causes of malfunctions by observing equipment in operation and using measuring instruments.
• Dismantle devices to remove defective parts using hand and power tools.
• Adjust components by inspecting parts with calipers, micrometers and other instruments.
• Minimize downtime through effective preventive maintenance practices.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and comply with rules and procedures.
• Collaborate with team to achieve related results.
