Job summary

Dessert Holdings is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to establish, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment across production areas. You will identify defects, perform preventive maintenance, and collaborate with Engineering on improvements.

You will install power transmission components, interpret electrical diagrams, and participate in root-cause analyses to prevent downtime. Training and overtime may be required, with strong focus on safety and GMP compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industrial mechanical experience or a two-year technical degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical power transmission systems and equipment alignment.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain pneumatic systems using schematics.
• Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and install electronic and process control systems.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics for troubleshooting and repairs.
• Must have own tools; a required tool list will be provided and tools on site within two weeks of hire.
• Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work overtime including weekends.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Must have forklift license or be able to complete training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair manufacturing equipment throughout production areas.
• Identify and repair electrical and mechanical defects.
• Serve as a Competency Specialist for the plant in RCA, Lubrication, PDM, or other equipment areas.
• Help establish standards for areas of responsibility aligned with Dessert Holdings standards.
• Complete preventative maintenance plans to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Participate in RCA for equipment and process failures and propose corrective actions.
• Install and align mechanical power transmission components and gearboxes.
• Troubleshoot and repair power transmission systems and perform maintenance.
• Complete PM and reliability tasks, including diagnostics, repairs, and rebuilds.
• Collaborate with Engineering and other departments on non-routine repairs and improvements.
• Train operators on maintenance techniques during troubleshooting.
• Document maintenance activities in the CMMS system and follow CMMS processes.
• Utilize CMMS and OEM drawings to identify improvements and MRO options.
• Support Preventative Maintenance to continually reduce downtime.
• Follow food safety and GMP practices; work safely with mechanical, fluid power, electrical systems.
