Job summary

B&G Foods in Ankeny, IA is seeking a Mechanic I or Mechanic II to maintain and repair plant machinery on a 3rd shift (3:15 PM–11:45 PM, Mon–Fri) with overtime potential. Starting hourly wages are Mechanic I: $28.90/hr + $0.55/hr diff; Mechanic II: $32.01/hr + $0.55/hr diff.

Benefits start day one including health/dental/vision and a 401(k) match. Requires high school diploma or GED and forklift certification within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Forklift certification must be obtained within 60 days of starting.
• Prior industrial maintenance experience is helpful and preferred.
• Ability to read schematics, diagrams and manuals relevant to plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain plant machinery in accordance with manuals and specs.
• Diagnose malfunctions and replace defective parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance and document tasks.
• Calibrate and adjust equipment to improve performance.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production for setup and changeovers.
• Maintain sanitary conditions and safety practices on site.
